Harry Leonard Klock passed away peacefully on September 16, 2016 at the age of 94 years. He is a native of Painted Post, NY and Corning, NY and resided in Belle Chasse, LA for the past 56 years. Beloved husband of the late Leona Ballay Klock. Father of Kevin J. Klock and Ann K. Phillips (husband Richard). Grandfather of Shawn M. Phillips (Alison). Great-grandfather of Colton Michael Phillips. Brother of Doris O’Bourn, the late Howard O. Klock and Ruth K. Houghletting. Son of the late Claude D. Klock and Daisy Grover Klock. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
He was retired from Jefferson Door Company with 30 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a qualified parachutist with the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment and was in the battles of Guadalcanal, Vella Lavella and Bougainville. He also served with the 4th Marine Division in the battle of Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Association of Survivors of the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment, the 4th Marine Division Association and the Iwo Jima Veterans.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a life member and Past Grand Knight of Fr. Peter P. Boerding K of C Council No. 6357 in Belle Chasse, a member of Bayhi-Ravey American Legion Post No. 329 and was a dedicated volunteer at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. He touched the lives of so many and will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Highway 23 in Belle Chasse on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment with military honors will take place in the Church Cemetery.
