Hazel Strange Selser

Hazel S. Selser passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the age of 95 years She was a resident of the New Orleans area since 1934.
Beloved wife of 66 years to the the late Edward F. Selser. Mother of Edward F. Selser Jr., Charles M. Selser and Robert K. Selser. Mother-in-law of Sharon R. Selser, Feme M. Selser and Ann O. Selser. Grandmother of 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons and 1 step-grandson. Great-Grandmother of 3 great grandsons. Sister of Bennie M. Strange Jr. and sister in law of Cathy R. Strange. Also survived by 3 nephews, 1 niece and 4 great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and Ben M. Strange; brother A.J. Strange and sister-in-law Frances P. Strange.
She retired after 30 years of secretarial and accounting work. Her last position was with Petro-Marine Engineering in Terrytown, LA. where she retired in 1980. She was the Worthy Matron of Rob Morris Chapter #1 Order of Eastern Star in 1978 and later affiliated with Sts. John Chapter #35 where she became Worthy Matron in 1994 and remained an active member.

Relatives and friends of the family, also the congregation of Gretna First Baptist Church, officers and members of the Sts. John Chapter #35 OES, are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Thursday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
