Helen Hargis Becnel

Helen Hargis Becnel, born in Gretna, Louisiana and resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, passed away in her sleep on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Theodore R. Becnel Jr.; parents, Abel Hargis and Lillie Parr Hargis; sister, Gertrude Parnell; brother, Alvin Hargis. She is beloved mother of Kim B. McMann (Bob), Kevin J. Becnel , Terence J. “Terry” Becnel ( Lauren) and Tonya A. Becnel. She is devoted grandmother of Brett McMann (Emily), Casey McMann (Ashley), Candace Bonnoitt ( David), Timothy Becnel, Rebecca Becnel, Victoria Becnel, Joshua Becnel, Taylor Becnel, Cameron Becnel and Carter Becnel. She is great grandmother of Camille and Molly McMann. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Helen was Co-Founder/ Owner of Becnel Advertising Specialties. She was a member of AARP of Belle Chasse, Red Hat Society, OLPH Singles Club and Belle Chasse Garden Club. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM with Funeral Mass to follow at 3:30 PM all at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 610 6th Street, Gretna, Louisiana. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna.
