Helen Alleman Daigle was born March 31,1921 in White Castle LA and passed away at her home in Gretna , LA on June 12, 2014 at the age of 93 years. Helen is survived by her children Janice M. Daigle of Baton Rouge, Marilyn D. Bankston of Gretna and Wayne G. Daigle (wife Ruby) of Thibodaux; grandchildren Ashlie Daigle of Bossier City and Jonathan Daigle (fiancé Savannah) of Winter Garden, FL along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Larry J. Daigle; precious granddaughter Melissa Ann Bankston; her parents Camille J. Alleman, Sr. and Marie Rivere Alleman; brothers, C.J. “Shug” Jr., Nolan J., Eno, John J., T.J. and Raymond Alleman; sisters, Elizabeth Boudin, Anna Richard, Mable Wallace, Cecile, Celine and Lillian Alleman.
She was a member of St Anthony Church in Gretna for over 50 years where she served on the Altar Society and was presented the Catholic Charities Award in 2003.She was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1905 Auxiliary, a member of NAIM Support Group and the Westbank Lions Club. The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice for the loving care they have shown Helen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Visitation will resume at St. Anthony Catholic Church, corner Burmaster and Franklin Streets in Gretna on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow.
