Henry Andrew Bergeron

Henry Andrew Bergeron, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the age of 78. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Boyd Bergeron; parents, William Louis Bergeron Sr. and Annie Babineaux Bergeron; brothers, William Louis Bergeron Jr. and Clarence Bergeron. He is the beloved father of Troy Anthony Bergeron Sr. and Timmy Joseph Bergeron Sr. He is the loving father-in-law of two amazing daughters-in-law, Tonya Urban Bergeron and Penny Strother Bergeron. He is the devoted grandfather of Troy Anthony Bergeron Jr., Ryan Michael Bergeron, Bryan Michael Bergeron, Taylor Lynn Bergeron and Timmy Joseph Bergeron Jr. He is loving grandfather-in-law of Lori Rome Bergeron and Amber Bladsacker. He is the great grandfather of Ava Layne Bergeron. He is the loving brother of Cecile Bergeron Kirby. He is also survived by his devoted and loving companion, Betty Stansbury; nieces, nephews, other family and numerous friends. Henry served his country in the US Army from 1962 to 1964. He retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad many years ago. He was the owner operator of TNT Sweetshop on 5th Street in Gretna. An avid Saints fan, he enjoyed watching the games with his sons and family especially if there was gumbo and potato salad. He loved to dance and went often as possible with a group of wonderful friends that loved him in return. The ladies would all wait patiently to dance with him. They will sure miss him whistling in their ear while they danced to the slow beat of the swamp pop music he loved so much. Henry was a devoted Catholic and is now at peace. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation Friday, December 29, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
