Henry Harold “Ben” Fruhling passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 7, 2013 at the age of 89. Beloved husband and friend of 62 years to Beryl Casey Fruhling. Father of Lisa F. Lanoix (Gerald) and Donna F. Bensel (Ronald). Grandfather “Pop” to Nicolle L. Guzman (Kim), Ashley B. Slater (Sam), Brittany B. Livaccari (Lance) and Kristin M. Lanoix (Will). Great grandfather to Mallorie, Evan, Ross, Isabella, Luke, Harper, Londyn and baby Casey. Brother of the late Mercedes F. Wilty and son of the late Harold Fruhling and Velma Fruhling Diamond. Ben was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed many activities with his friends and family. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Campaign from 1942-1945. He was a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service and was also a parishioner of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mandeville. The family would like to offer a very special thanks to Sharon Marks, Ollie Watson and his other loving caregivers. We are also grateful for Excel Home Health, VA Home Health and his wonderful care from Notre Dame Hospice. Lastly, we are especially thankful for his Eucharistic Ministers, Jerry and Carolyn Broussard. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association in Henry’s honor.
