Iona Gros Vallee

Iona Gros Vallee of Westwego, LA passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Iona was the daughter of the late Hermine and Thompson Gros. She was pre-deceased in death by her loving husband, Reginald, her daughter, Charlene Holmes (Lewis) and her siblings, Mildred Case, Bessie Macalusa, and Thompson Gros, Jr. Survivors include her children, Tom Vallee (Susie) of Folsom, and Tim Vallee (Elaine) of Harvey and a sister, Frances Schouest. She was the devoted "Maw-Maw" to Rebecca Brown, Tim Vallee, Jr, Michael Holmes, Stacie Ronquille, Katie McCracken and T.C. Vallee as well as to 10 great-grandchildren. Iona was a retiree of Sears and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Iona enjoyed gardening, reading and dedication to her family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 8:30am until 11am. Interment, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.
