Irene Gladys Legnon

Irene G. “Coach” a.k.a. "Dolly" Legnon, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late C.J. Legnon. Daughter of the late John Gianelloni and Irene Gianelloni Sherwood.Step daughter of George Sherwood. Mother of Brian Legnon (Wife Debbie), Denise Legnon, David Legnon (Wife Margaret), Brenda McDonald (Husband Danny “Mac”), Danny Legnon (Wife the late Garnet)(Fiance' Toni Strong), Karen Perrin (Husband Warren) and Craig Legnon. Grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 1 late grandchild; great grandmother of 18 and 2 expected great grandchildren. Irene was an avid bowler. She coached girls and women’s softball as well as boy’s baseball teams and to the New Orleans Saints Football team, whom she was a fan, she suggest to the team to continue to "Pluck them dirty birds!" Irene was an inspiration to everyone who knew her; for that, she will be sadly and greatly missed. With respect to Irene's wishes, funeral services will not be held.
