Irene Bouvier Matherne

Irene Bouvier Matherne passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 25, 2013 at the age of 87. A resident of Harvey and a parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague. She was a member of Infant Jesus Golden Ages, Widows Support Group, and West Jefferson Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons, Robert, Kenneth, and Ronald; daughters, Vicki Matherne, June Trahan, Charlene Grubbe, Rebecca Hollis, Carolyn Plaisance, and Jacqueline Wedge, the late Patricia Abadie sister, Velma B. Stauter; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert A. Matherne, Sr.; parents, Morris Bouvier and Alice Gros Bouvier; brothers, Horace and Earl; sisters, Alice Boudreaux and Shirley Dupre. Irene will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She treasured her family and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral service at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11 AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Friday from 8 AM until 11 AM.
