Irma Marie Brown Hood

Irma Marie Brown Hood entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Wilmer “Wayne” Hood. Daughter of the late James Brown, Sr. and Mamie Dugas Brown. Loving and devoted mother of Royce G. Hood, Eva Day and the late Cathy Hood Simon and husband Gibbons Earl Hidalgo by first marriage and Mark Simon by second marriage; the late Keith Hood and the late Karen Hood Blaise and husband the late George. Grandmother of Michelle Hidalgo, Sean Hidalgo, Marguerite Hood, Gabrielle Hood, Nicholas Hood, Jimmy Hood, Zachary Blaise, Krista Blaise, Shane Rodriguez and Duane Day. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins and other relatives and friends. Sister of the late Roy Brown, Jewel J. Brown, Richard J. Brown and James J. Brown, Jr. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Duane Day, her primary caregiver for his love and support to Irma. A Visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 9AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
