Israel Paul “Tookie” Banquer passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021 at the age of 92. Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years to Cleo Dickson Banquer; children, Catherine B. Vicknair (Tony), Larry J. Banquer (Stephanie), Michael F. Banquer (Sandra), Christy B. Boudreaux (Ronnie), along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel F. Banquer and Mae Thibodeaux Banquer; son, Richard Paul Banquer; brother, Cleveland Banquer; sister, Earline B. Broussard; grandsons, Todd Vicknair and Larry Banquer Jr.; great-granddaughters, Lillian Grace Durkes and Cheyenne Tucker; and his daughter-in-law, Dianne F. Banquer.
Tookie was born and raised on the Westbank and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant. He spent 27 years with Noble Drilling and later worked as an independent oil field consultant until his retirement.
Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 10am to 1:30pm. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
