Ivy Paul Blanchard

Ivy Paul Blanchard, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 84. Son of the late Lydia Landry and Ivy Paul Blanchard, Sr. He was the husband of the late Lois Cantrelle Blanchard for 63 years. Brother of Ridley and Gerald Blanchard, Marguerite Naquin and the late Verta Landry, Vivian Daigle, Doris Lirette, Audrey Jordan and Donald Blanchard. He is survived by his children, Dianne (Dee), Michael, Dennis, Cynthia (Cindy), Patricia (Pattie) and Ivy III (Buddy). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Veronica, Charlotte, Gregory, Melissa, Danette, Ronald, James, Caleb, Zachary and Michael; his Great Grandchildren, Julia, Jacob, Brandon Tyler, Jordon, Anthony, Ricky, Ronald (BeBe), Brandon Lee, Stephen, Ronald Raymond, Michael, Joseph, Breanna, Daniel, Drew, Shelby, Keirsten, Dakota, Jimi Jr. and many nieces and nephews. He was a native of Labadieville, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse for most of his life. He served in the United States Army in 1946-1947. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Riverbend Nursing Home and Ochsner Medical Center-Westbank for their love, care and compassion for Ivy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 10AM until 12PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church on Thursday at 12PM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA.
