Jack Clifford Morris

Jack Clifford Morris of Gretna, La, Lakeland, Fl., and Youngwood, Pa, born on Nov.8, 1924 in Greensburg, Pa., passed away on July 19, 2023.  Jack was 98 years old.  His parents, John and Stella Morris, predeceased him, along with his wife of 67 years, Mary A. Kuchta Morris, daughter, Sandra Morris Powers, and brothers William Morris, Robert Morris, Richard Morris, Charles Morris and Ron Morris, and sisters Ida Mae Baker, Helen McGinnis, Viola Morris, Margaret Wilson, Ruth Love, Dorothy Boggs, sons-in-law, Dale Powers and James Bailey.  He is survived by daughters, Cheryl Bailey and Sally Lemieux and husband Gregory, his grandchildren Jennifer Powers, Erin Albanese, Adam Powers, Jill Bailey, Daniel Lemieux and wife Andrea, and Amy Lemieux. Also survived by his great grandchildren Marissa Bailey, Kathryn LaChute, Alexis Pion, Brenna Page and Daniel LemieuxII, along with his sisters, Lois Prinkey Clark and Donna Porterfield, sisters-in-law Theresa Greenawalt, Josephine Mazzoni, Clara Morris, Eleanor Morris, Anne Morris, Alice Morris, and Ruth Kuchta, along with many nieces and nephews  Jack served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, after which he and wife, Mary married and began their family. He worked at Walworth  in Greensburg, Pa. And moved to Louisiana where he worked at Avondale Shipyards in Harvey, La.  After retirement, he and Mary moved to Lakeland, Fl and lived there for 26 years.  He has lived with his daughter Cheryl in Gretna for the past 6 years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 1:30pm.  Visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:30pm.
