Jacqueline Bubrig Cain, born in Ville Platte, LA on November 17, 1938, was taken by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 86 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Cain was a native of Ville Platte and resided in Plaquemines Parish for the past 67 years.
Jacqueline is the beloved wife of 39 years to John Alvin Cain. She was previously married to the late Brian Bubrig. She was the daughter of the late George Lafleur and the late Lena Fontenot Lafleur and sister of Helen Dardeau. She was the loving mother of Dwain Bubrig, Celeste Bubrig Cappiello, the late Douglas Bubrig, and step-mother of Alvena Campbell (David).
She was a loving grandmother to Lindsay Stein (Adam), Blake Cappiello (Brittney), Kayla Hingle (Paul), Michael Bubrig and the great grandmother to Lorelai Hingle, Ellie, Emerson, and Sophie Stein, Cooper and Rosie Cappiello, and Peyton Cain.
After high school, she attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute, now University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After many years selling insurance, she retired to enjoy spending time with her family. Jacqueline also enjoyed traveling, cooking, entertaining, volunteering, and especially dancing. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Port Sulphur and later, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 8968 LA 23 Belle Chasse, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment to immediately follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
