James B. August passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of Marian Whitaker August by second marriage and of the late Erline Wilke August by first marriage. Father of Robert D. August (April), Deborah K. August Kulesza (Hank), and Susan August Griffin. Step-father of Beverli Whitaker Dougherty (the late Michael), Scott Whitaker (Faye), and Mitchell Whitaker (Susan). Son of the late Novin Barfield August and Issac Walter August. Brother of the late Annie Schmidt. Grandfather of Andrea August Conrad (Drew), Bryan August, Christopher August, Michael August, D.J. Kulesza, Nicole Kulesza, Joy Griffin Thomas (John), and Brent Griffin. Also survived by 8 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 6 step-great grandchildren. He was a native of Houston, Texas and a resident of New Orleans, LA for 60 years and most recently of Slidell, LA for the past one and a half years and spent his entire career at Freeport McMoRan. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend A Memorial Service on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1pm at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA.
