James M. Champagne

James M. Champagne entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the age of 73. Lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved and loving husband of 52 years to Eloise Breaux Champagne, of Dulac, Louisiana. Son of the late Earl and Rhea Champagne. Father of Carla C. Rodrigue (Husband Troy), Ryan J. Champagne (Wife Liz) and Cherie C. Alombro (Husband “Nunnie”). He loved and adored his Grandchildren, Jeffery Chaisson III, Kylie Conrad, Lane Conrad, Amber Rodrigue, Troy Rodrigue, Jr. and Hannah Champagne. James is the great grandfather of 2 expected great grandchildren. Brother of Gerald Champagne, Sr. Brother-in-law of Adruel Luke, Juanita Tauzin, Lenora Breaux and the late Mae Doris Simon. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. James was an avid golfer and a retired bus driver for Jefferson Parish Schools. He will be deeply missed by his many lifelong friends whom he considered to be family. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Staff of LSU Trauma Unit, especially Lindsey Bienvenu and Jeremy Landry; the Staff of Oceans Specialty Hospital, especially Ki Monroe, Diane Anderson and the Staff of the Respiratory Department; the Staff of West Jefferson Medical Center, 3 West especially Derek Williamson and Jennifer Rodriguez; and his many doctors, especially Dr. Cherie Niles. Relatives and friends, also employees of Jefferson Parish School Board System are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 6PM until 11PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 8AM until 11:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA on Friday at 12 Noon.
