On September 15, 2013, God gently embraced James R. Hinson, Sr. and brought him home to Heaven at the age of 79 years. He was born in Big Spring, TX to the late Curtis and Willie Myrle Sanders Hinson. He resided in Boothville, LA with his loving wife of 59 years, Charlene Johnke Hinson. He leaves to cherish his memories to five children: James Jr., Johnny (Rene), Jay, Jeannine Danos (Jody) and Jennifer Landry (Jude). Proud grandfather of Rache’, Caria, Jonathan (Cristi), Lacie (Garrett), Rachel, Danica (Dakota), Danielle, Jacob, Jena, the late Joseph and five great-grandchildren: Kali, Rowen, Gavin, Emma and Ezra. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his brother, Vernon (Wanda), Bernon (Glenda) and his sister, Pat (Derwood) and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was retired from Chevron after 29 years and later worked for Karbun Oil for 10 years. He was a devout Christian and faithfully watched the Shepherd’s Chapel.
