James “Durwood” Jones went home to be with his heavenly father and family on January 19, 2012, at the age of 72. A native of Lumberton, MS, and longtime resident of Jesuit Bend, LA, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Laura Jones Howard, his son-in-law, Denny Howard, and his granddaughters, Whitney and Halli. He is also survived by his brothers, Virgil Willard Jones and Hoyte Tyrone Jones, along with sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie Lynne Bubrig Jones; his father, Virgil Jones; and his mother, Clotilde Ladner Jones. Mr. Jones proudly served his country in both the National Guard and Army Reserves. He worked many years in the oil fields and as an owner/operator of a trucking company. A country boy at heart, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial visitation at The Crossroad Church, 308 Avenue J, Belle Chasse, LA on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, beginning at 2 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 3 pm.
