James Franklin Jones

James Franklin Jones was called to heaven on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Bobbye Jean Coats Jones. Companion of Norma Winegeart. Father of Donna Bowles. Grandfather of DeAnna Tillery (Todd) and Derek Bowles (Jener). Great grandfather of Kaitlyn Tillery and Dennin Bowles. Son of the late Mae Dickerson Jones and John W. Jones. Brother of Shirley Byrd (Jerry), Sandra Schuler, and the late Juanita Mitchell (George, Sr.), Dorothy Ray (late James) and Charles Jones (Lily). He will also be dearly missed by the Winegeart and Noel families. James was a lifelong resident of Gretna, La., a Veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of William D. White Masonic Lodge #408, a member of Scottish Rite, Jerusalem Temple Shrine and a very active member of the Belle Chasse United Methodist Church and the Belle Chasse United Methodist Men’s Group. A special thanks to Jenny Leblanc and St. Margaret’s Hospice as well as the staff of Ochsner for their great care and service.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Homes, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:30 pm.
