James J. Mathews passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Anna Chavez Mathews for 48 years. Father of Pennie Walker (Marc), Rodney Mathews, the late Jacqueline and Stephen Mathews. Grandfather of Cody and Tabitha Walker, Brooke and Stephen Mathews. Predeceased by 3 sisters, 1 brother and parents Jane Arceneaux and Wilfred Mathews. A native of Lafayette, LA. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3520 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday June 23, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment for Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
