James McAllister

James “Poppy” McAllister entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 39 years to Ruth Stewart McAllister. Son of the late James and Alice McAllister. Father of Tim Stewart (Carol), Lee Evans, Karen Schouest (Robert) and John Evans (Monique). Grandfather of Tyler Kampmann, Nicholas Schouest, Christian Stewart, Daniel Stewart, Jordan Evans, Katie Evans and Aiden Evans. James was born in Brooklyn, New York and was a resident of Marrero for the past 48 years. He served his country while enlisted in the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Harvey. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Devine Care Hospice for their love and care given to James. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and neighbors. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 9AM until 11AM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
