James Stein

James Stein passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Doris Morvant Stein for 44 years. Father of Roger Stein (Barbara), Wayne Stein (Val), Cynthia Stein, and Scott Stein (Yvette). Step-father of Jennifer Maysonet, and Janice Compton(Chris). Son of the late Lillian Bourg Stein and Roger Stein. Brother of Heneritta Ockmand (the late Paul), Gladys Campo (the late Joseph), Nathalie Hinojosa (the late Ralph) and the late Bertha Raushkolb (the late Alvin) (the late Carl), Stuart Stein (Ruth) and Walter Stein (Gloria). Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 222. He retired from Continental Can Company after 25 years of service and was a bailiff with the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Courts Division J. He was a native of Vacherie, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also members of American Legion Post 222 and employees of the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Courts are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 1pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9am until 1pm.
