James Herbert Stone, Jr., (“Jim”) passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the age of 71. The older son of Cecile Costley Stone and James Herbert Stone, Sr., Jim began his life’s journey in New Orleans. He found his calling early with his studies of Chemistry at Loyola University and embarked on his career in the energy industry. He traveled the world for years on advanced research and development but then decided to come back to serve New Orleans. Over the next thirty years, he worked for Entergy and the State of Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to protect Louisiana communities.
Jim’s wife, Carol Stone, brother Richard Stone, sister-in-law Jill Stone, brother-in-law James Cunningham, sister-in-law Gayle Cunningham, ten nieces and nephews, and many friends will celebrate Jim’s life at his funeral on Friday, September 26, 2014, Mothe Funeral Homes (1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA).
