Jason Louis Matte was called Home by his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the age of 25. Beloved son of Christina “Tina” Turlich Matte and the late Randall “Randy” James Matte. Brother of Chris Matte (Wife Mindy Sylve Matte) and nieces, Alyssa and Peyton Matte. Grandson of Austin D. Matte, Myrtis Quibodeaux Matte, Marion Turlich and Carol Nystrom Turlich. Nephew of Patrick “Gil” Matte (Wife Kathy Matte), Rachel Matte Marvin (Husband “Willie” Marvin), Darren “DD” Matte (Wife Cathy McAdams Matte), Traci Matte Mouton, Donald “Bret” Mouton, Kenneth Turlich, Lisa Turlich Deloach, Susie Turlich King (Husband, the late Brian King), Gerald Duplechien, Sr. (Wife Arla Griffice Duplechien), Tara Matte Newman, Elvin Matte, Sandra Morel, Enola LaGorosse and the late Tammy Matte Adam (Survived by Husband Steve Adam). Jason is survived by his girlfriend, Stephanie M. Lewallen. Great Grandson of Myrtle Wilger Rowe. Cousin of T.J “Chunk” Duplechien, Joshua Duplechien, Brian Duplechien, Allison Matte, Dodie Matte, Stefanie Adam, Lauren Marvin, Miranda Marvin, Donald Mouton, Dylan Mouton, Devon Mouton, Madison Mouton, Melanie Melancon, Rochelle Deloach Ladner, Johnathon Deloach, Adam King, Timothy King, Laney Matte, Brennan Newman, Kennen Newman and Kolby James Newman. Also survived by other numerous family members, friends and also coworkers from Sammy’s Bar and Grill. Jason graduated with honors from Belle Chasse High School, Class of 2004. He was a member of the Beta Club, Student Council, Art Club and Science Club. He also graduated from LSU in 2009 with a Bachelor Degree in Marine Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 8:30AM until 12:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Saturday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
