Jay William Putnam departed this life suddenly on the morning of 21st December 2011 at the age of 52. He was born in Dallas, TX on 10 July 1959 and has been a resident of New Orleans, LA for the past 20 years. Jay is the son of Connie Brockles Putnam McNabb and Rex Gordon Putnam, Sr. and stepson of Ivy H. McNabb. He is survived by his twin brothers Rex Gordon Putnam, Jr. and Lex Brockles Putnam and younger brother Gregg Allen Putnam, Sr He is also survived by his stepbrother Ivy McNabb, Jr., stepsister Endea Ann McNabb, half sisters Tiffany Anne-Marie McNabb and Ashley Nicole McNabb, Tina Wiggins and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Father of Jamey Lagarde and grandfather to his darling twins, Kaiden and Makayla. Jay also leaves behind his dear cousins Henry, Robert and Gerald Putnam. Jay graduated from W.P. Davidson High School in Mobile, AL in 1977 and immediately went to work. Jay worked in the oil field industry in his youth and was able to spin hours of tales of his travels to the far reaches of the world. Jay perfected his craft of carpentry and woodworking taking tremendous pride in his work and leaving many happy customers in the New Orleans area. Jay just buried his best friend Brad Wilson and he had battled courageously with illness for many years. Jay was always a big hearted person who was first to help anyone in need. He will be sadly missed.
