Jean Lore Giorlando

On March 13, 2024 Jean Dorothea Lore Giorlando went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born to Louis and Katherine Illg Lore in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 1, 1935. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, a brother Louis and sister Lois, and her beloved husband Carlo Joseph Giorlando, Sr. After marrying Carlo in 1957 they moved to Metairie and started lives, several businesses, and a family together. They opened Giorlando's Restaurant in 1972, and it remains open and a staple in Metairie today taken over by her two sons Paul and John in 2005. She is survived by her brother Joseph and her sister Jeannette along with her children Margarita Decha (Gary) of Metairie, Carlo Giorlando, Jr (Cathy) of Metairie, Paul Giorlando of Slidell, John Giorlando of Metairie, Michael Giorlando (Mona) of Madisonville, Peter Giorlando (Angela) of Bush, and Louis Giorlando (Cheryl) of New Hampshire.

In her spare time you could find our beloved Nonnie in her sewing room making all sorts of clothes, dolls, bears, pillows and blankets for her 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who all look forward to sharing stories and keeping her memory alive.

Please join her family in celebrating her life at St. Angela Merici, Metairie, LA on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10:30 AM until Funeral Mass time at 12 Noon. . Interment Lakelawn Cemetery. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
