Jerome Francis Burlet

Jerome “Jay” Francis Burlet, III a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the age of 57. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 38 years, Valerie Pitre Burlet. Loving father of Kristi Burlet O’Rourke (Husband Eddie), Kori Burlet Vinju (Husband Shawn) and Kelli Burlet Giovengo (Husband Raymond). Affectionally known as “Pere” by his grandchildren, Ryan and Mason O’Rourke, Elise Giovengo, Kade Vinju and 1 expected grandchild, Cooper Giovengo. Brother of Judy Rourk, Joan Burlet, James Burlet, Jody Dufrene and Jackie Dufrene. Son of the late Jerome Francis Burlet, Jr. and Majorie Gros Dufrene. He loved spending time with his family and especially loved to cook for them. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 10AM until 1PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Monday at 1PM. Interment will be in McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
