TSGT Jesse Lee Hawkins Sr. U.S. Air Force (Ret) entered into Eternal Rest on October 29, 2014 at the age of 60 years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Jesse touched many lives with his strong and charismatic personality. Jesse was born in Natchez, MS and lived in Marrero, LA for most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Marva Sevin-Hawkins; children, Dewayne Davis, Elizabeth Hawkins (Eric), Jesse Lee Hawkins Jr. (LaShonda), Meagan Sevin and Joshuah Sevin-Hawkins. Brother of George Sanders (Joyce) and Mary Nellon (Jimmy). Son-in-law of Joanie and David Elkins. Brother-in-law of Tabby and Fred Umbach, Sandy Sevin and William “Billy” Hilton (Tabitha). He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sanders Hawkins. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jesse served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 20 years of faithful service. He returned to work for NASA in New Orleans East and worked as a production welder for the next 16 years until his retirement in 2010. He loved traveling, cooking and spending time with his beloved family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA.
