Jewel Windham Leathem

Jewel Windham Leathem, 71, passed away early Thursday morning, September 15, 2016. Jewel was born January 18, 1945 in Algiers, LA and was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. She retired from Concordia Lutheran School after 37 years of dedicated service. Beloved wife of the late Dyton John (“DJ”) Leathem, Sr. Mother of D.J. Leathem, Jr. Mother-in-law of Stacye Carney Leathem. Grandmother of Kayla Dell Leathem and Meagan Elizabeth Leathem. Long-time companion of Kennedy Hamm. Daughter of the late Matilda Crawford Windham and George Windham. Sister of Jack Windham, Sr, Dorothy Windham D. McGehee and the late Ronnie Windham. Sister-in-law of Sandra Windham, Carolyn Leathem, and the late William D. McGehee. She will be missed by family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at Mothe Funeral Homes, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. Parlors will be open on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm and on Monday morning from 9:00 until 11:00. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
