Jimmie D. Hammond passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Joanie W. Hammond for the past 26 years. Father of Lynette H. Nelson (Clifford) and Ronetta Tobias. Son of the late Henry Hammond and Classie Mae Stricklin-Hammond. Brother of Yvonne, Mary and Geraldine Hammond, Carolyn, Linda, Julie Ann and Margrette Anderson. Grandfather of Camryn Tobias, Nia S. Nelson, and Clifford Nelson, Jr. Great-grandfather of Naija S. Nelson, Cherday Nelson, and Tavian Hurst. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and the extended Bonin Family. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 am from Philadelphia Ministries, 1171 Terry Parkway, Terrytown, LA 70056.
