Joachim "Joe" Santos

Joachim “Joe” Santos passed away on February 6, with his family by his side. He was born in New Orleans to the late Joachim D. and Eva LaMarque Santos on October 21, 1923. The beloved husband of Mary Kern Santos, and survived by his daughters, Sherrill, Andrea Duplechain (Stephen) and Karen Lambousy (Greg), and two sons, Gary J. and Edward “Skip” Santos (Linda), and eight grandchildren and his sister Ameila Gassen (Arthur), preceding him in death was his sister Theolia Lotuso (Richard). He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific, and was the survivor of a Kamikaze attack. He was a mentor and inspiration to all and will be remembered for his kindness. Few like him will pass this way again. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM on Monday, February 11, at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA, Mass will be at 1 PM and burial at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
