Joan Y Alimia

Joan Y Alimia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday January 22, 2017. Survived by her loving husband, Garey P Alimia, married for 54 years. Her beloved son Peter Kent Alimia, her daughter-in-law Doris Alimia, grand-daughters Emily Ann Alimia, and Molly Jean Alimia. Also survived by her sister-in-law Tessie Grabert (Ralph) and beloved nieces, Brandi Lackey Williams (Joseph Williams), Sherri Lackey Bean (Terry Bean) and Rhonda Grabert Barba (Steven). Also, her great niece and nephews, Brenan Bean, Aidan Williams, Brieann Bean, and Liam Williams and Godson, Trace Grabert. She is also survived by her husband’s daughter and grand-daughters whom she loved dearly, Samanta Amedee, Sophie Texeira Nunez, Jasmin Texeira Nunez and brother, Wayne Lackey. She was also survived by her beloved pets, Luka, Noel, and Layla. Preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Jean White and her brother, Ralph "Dickey" Lackey. She was born in Little Rock Arkansas, and was a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. She loved her family and spending time with her granddaughters and enjoyed gardening. Relatives and friends of the family, also members of the Rotary Club of the Westbank, Timberlane Homeowner's Association and Country Club, employees of A-1 Appliance are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until 9pm and again on Friday morning from 9am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
