John Charles Beroular, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his residence in Marrero at the age of 89. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. John was a native of New Orleans and long time resident of Marrero. He is survived by Bessie Bourgeois Beroular, his devoted wife of 68 years, and four children, John C. Beroular, Jr. (Valerie), Robert J. Beroular (Shirley), Ted P. Beroular, and Susan B. Henry (Bob). Grandfather of Michelle B. Smyth (Michael), Elizabeth H. Lively (Frank) and Robert J. Henry IV (Michelle), step grandfather of Ed Kline, Rev. David Kline (Alice), and Debbie Comegys (Tim), great grandfather of Erik and Hunter Lively, Brysen and Oliver Henry, Tiffany, Kristina, Andrew and Gabriel Comegys. Son of the late John E. Beroular and Irma W. Beroular, brother of the late Irma B. Nelson, Virgin B. Fisher, and Rose Mae B. Liuzza. John had two careers during his working life, first as a Candy maker and Production Superintendent at Elmer's Candy Company and later as a Machinist at Avondale Shipyards. After family, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching Saints football. John was a member of the Visitation of Our Lady Parish where for many years he volunteered at the annual Parish Fair.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Visitation of Our Lady Church, Ames Blvd, Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1:15 PM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Saturday from 9 AM until 12:45 PM. The family would like to thank the doctors at the West Jefferson Medical Center, Canon Hospice and others who helped the family during John's illness. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
