John Joseph Bongard

John Joseph Bongard entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of 58 years to Jane Magreevy Bongard. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. Bongard and Louella Miller Bongard Montalbano; his step father Anthony Montalbano; his step son, Dennis E. Riley; and his brother, Joseph H. Bongard. Survived by his brother, Anthony “Tony” Montalbano; his sister, Yvonne B. Rothell as well as nieces, nephews and grandchildren and his canine companion, Suzi Bongard. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to his caregivers, Alfreda Agustus, Akila Agustus, Shenell Curtis; his former caregivers, Angie Nemecek and Joann Powell as well as his lifelong friends, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Breaux for their love, support and care given. John was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church and a volunteer for 5 years at Meadowcrest Hospital in Gretna, LA. He worked 43 years as a Supply Clerk with the United States Government and he served in the United States Army. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Monday, September 10, 2012 from 11:30AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1PM. Interment will be in St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Algiers, LA.
