John Leslie “Buddy” Bonnett, Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Betty Laughlin Bonnett for 60 years. Loving father of David J. Bonnett (Felicia), Barbara Bonnett Schmitt (Ron) and Camille Bonnett Lockhart (Mike). Grandfather of Christie Duhe’ (Jeff) and Dax Bonnett (Stephanie). Great grandfather of Colin and Evan Duhe’. Brother of Camille Hubble. Also survived by a host of loving stepchildren, stepgreat grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by a brother, Jerry Bonnett and parents Camille Curry Bonnett and John L. Bonnett, Sr. Age, 86 years. A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. Mr. Bonnett was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School and attended Loyola University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a founding parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Algiers.
Relatives and friends of the family also, parishioners of St. Andrew Church and residents of The Landing at Behrman Place are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11 AM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open Thursday from 9 AM until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, heartfelt thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
