John W. LaCour passed away on September 19, 2012 at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of Maxine Rogers LaCour. Father of Michelle LeJeune (Paul), John “Joey” LaCour (Darlin) and Jeanne Reinhold (Marcus). Grandfather of Wesley, Peter, Jacob and Isaac LeJeune, Alexandra and Adrian LaCour, Brandon, Dillon and Marissa McNerney and Max Reinhold. Brother of Bernice Dupaquier and Bernadette Haas. Son of the late Myrtle Gremillion LaCour and Alphonse LaCour.
John was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served his Country during the Vietnam War. He later retired as a Federal employee, serving U.S. Customs/Department of the Treasury, General Services Administration and also worked as a civilian with the U.S. Navy. He served his community as a Board member for the Plaquemines Parish Planning & Zoning Board as well as the Belle Chasse A.A.R.P. Chapter No. 4034 and served his Church as an auxiliary member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Altar Society. For his professional dedication, he earned the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award and for his dedication to his Church, he earned the St. Louis Medallion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will take place in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
