John M. Lumpkin

John M. Lumpkin passed away on February 12, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Shirley Dugas Lumpkin. Father of Bambi Gardner (husband, Danny), Wendy Buras and Mike Lumpkin. Grandfather of Shannon Gardner, CW2 John Gardner, U.S. Army, Adam Buras, Brandon Lumpkin and Sgt. Winton Lumpkin, U.S. Army. Great-grandfather of Katelynn Hoogacker, Kody Hoogacker and Jake Gardner. Son of the late Bobbie Mae Hunt Lumpkin and O. W. Lumpkin.
John served his country as a mechanic in the U.S. Army during World War II and later retired from the former Wilson Supply Company. He played rhythm guitar with his band “Sidewinders” along with his beloved Shirley, who played bass guitar. He loved to travel, fish and was a talented photographer who chronicled his loving family through the years. He will be sadly missed.
