John Roxburgh MacLachlan Jr., a beloved electrical technician and devoted family man, passed away on October 31, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on May 24, 1942, in Washington, DC, John was the cherished son of John MacLachlan Sr. and Phyllis MacLachlan, both of whom have predeceased him.
John served honorably in the United States Marines for four years, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. After his military service, he embarked on a career as an electrical technician in the oil field, where he was known for his skill and dedication.
Beyond his professional life, John had a spirit of adventure and a passion for the outdoors. He loved sailing, often taking to the waters with his family, where he not only enjoyed the thrill of competition but also won numerous sailboat races. His enthusiasm extended to flying as well, where he found joy in piloting his Cessna airplane. John cherished the moments spent traveling to Alaska with his brother, forming memories that would last a lifetime.
John was married to Lynda Wahl MacLachlan, who predeceased him, and together they shared a life filled with love and memories. He leaves behind his proud legacy through his sons, Carl MacLachlan (Melinda) and Gilbert MacLachlan (Shannon), and his three granddaughters, Lindsay Chiappetta (Vincent), Rachel Crenshaw (Corey), and Sarah MacLachlan and his great-granddaughter, Violet. His sister, Phyllis Ulowetz, and brother, Jim MacLachlan, also survive him, holding onto the fond memories of their time together.
John Roxburgh MacLachlan Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His contributions to his family and community will be remembered with great affection, and his adventurous spirit will continue to inspire those left behind.
