John Howard Mcmahon Sr.

John Howard McMahon, Sr., a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Doris Cambre McMahon for 62 years. Loving father of John McMahon, Jr. (the late Linda), Kenneth McMahon, Patricia McMahon, Michael McMahon (Teri), and Susan M. Adams (Rick). Grandfather of Chris Taylor, Michelle Tarifa, Rachael Shirley, Ryan and Brooke Adams, Kourtney Schexnayder. Great grandfather of Peyton, Madison, Alex, Elizabeth and Jackson. Brother of the late Earl, Wilbur, Charles, Stanley, Robert McMahon, and Irma Lee Griffin. Son of the late Irma Whitney McMahon and James McMahon. John was a U.S. Army Veteran, 114th Infantry during WWII, a member of the VFW Post 3121, American Legion Post 218 and the World War II Museum. He was retired from CONOCO Oil Co. after 35 years of service. John enjoyed tennis, dancing, cards and travel. He will be greatly missed by family and friends with whom he enjoyed making laugh.
Relatives and friends of the family also members of the above named organizations, are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open Tuesday from 10 AM until 1:30 PM.
