John Joseph Mialjevich

June 24, 1942 — August 13, 2011

John Joseph Mialjevich, Jr. (Tee John), age 69, ascended to be with God early Saturday morning August 13, 2011. He was a native of Empire, LA and a longtime resident of New Orleans, LA. A retired commercial shrimper, founder of Concerned Shrimpers of America, and former board member of the State of Louisiana’s Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, as well as the Louisiana State University Marine and Coastal Fisheries Advisory Board. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, was the son of the late John Joseph Mialjevich, Sr. and Edith Mercedes Bianchini Mialjevich. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hull Mialjevich, children Jason Mialjevich, Rachael M. Robichaux, Sarah M. Villani, Jenee’ Mialjevich, Ruth Lynn Volturo, John E. Volturo, Joseph Volturo, and Paul Girard, and his sister Edith Hebert Mialjevich. He is also survived by six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11 AM. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6 PM until 10 PM and resume on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 8 AM until 11 AM.
