Joretta Walker Bourgeois

Joretta Walker Bourgeois passed away peacefully at her residence on July 24, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of 63 years to Arthur Bourgeois. Beloved mother of Michael Bourgeois, Michelle Akin (Bill), Karla Bourgeois (Mark) and the late Glen Bourgeois. Survivors include three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren including her grandchild, Celeste Tracy (Danny) and great-grandchildren, Sara and Jacob. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alice Bouquet Walker and Lucius P. Walker, two sisters, two brothers, four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

She was a devout Catholic and was an active parishioner at St. Rosalie Catholic Church in Harvey.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 601 Second Avenue, Harvey, LA on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
