Jose Vitan Guiang passed away peacefully at his home after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family on January 22, 2016. He was born to Lope and Rosalia Guiang in Cavite City, Philippines on November 23, 1941. Jose was a long-time resident of Algiers, Louisiana entering into eternal rest at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving, dedicated wife, Yvonne Lacoste Guiang, who he was married to for 51 years. He was the beloved father of Karen Macera (Ricci), Lissa Fisackerly (Kenny), Christine Guiang (Francisco) and Jason Guiang. Jose was grandfather to Amanda Boudreaux (Dylan), Kayla and Raychel Macera; Eric, Brett and Jeff Fisackerly; and Mila Cardenas. Brother of Evelyn and Ricardo Guiang and Isabelita Magtoto. Jose served 4 years in the United States Navy and was retired from the oil field business. He was a devout Catholic and a long time member of St. Andrew the Apostle. He was a selfless, dedicated man, committed to his wife and family. His kind heart, genius mind, adventurous spirit and his gift to make everyone laugh will be greatly missed. His family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time including the staff at Guardian Angels. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10AM until 12PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
