Joseph Philip Bloom

Joseph Philip Bloom entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 70 years to Mary Louise Borne Bloom. Son of the late August H. Bloom, Sr. and Leona Hymel Bloom. Father of Geralyn Bloom Pahnka. Grandfather of Amanda “Mandy” Pahnka Ortolano. “Pop-Pop” to Madisyn Alizabeth Ortolano and Isabella Marie Ortolano. Brother of Cecelia Delacriox and the late August H. Bloom, Jr. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Joseph was a retired employee of New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board, a member of American Legion Post 218, a member of the VFW Post 3121 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1724. He was a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to any Capitol One Bank to defray funeral expenses.
