Joseph Peter Borowski, III

September 13, 1964 — November 5, 2023

Joseph Peter Borowski, III, 59, passed away on Sunday November 5, 2023 at the Azalea Hospice House at the VA of New Orleans after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved wife of 25 years, Nicole Borowski, at his side. Husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor to many. Joe was a native of Niagara Falls, NY. He joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 in June 1982. He proudly served his country during many conflicts, the first being the Beirut Bombing in October 1982. Upon completing over 16 and half years with the Marine Corps, Joe continued to serve his country by joining the United States Border Patrol. He held many roles during his time as a Border Patrol Agent, including Peer Support, EMT, Honor Guard, FTO, and many others until his retirement in September 2021 as a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent. His heroism, courage, and humility will never be forgotten. Of all the roles Joe held, his proudest was Dad to Natalie Borowski. He would applaud Natalie’s accomplishments to anyone who would listen. She was the apple of his eye. Anyone who knew him, will tell you he felt Natalie was the preeminent accomplishment of his life. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph P Borowski, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Borowski (nee Balbach), Daughter Natalie Borowski, Mother Dolores Borowski (nee Gossard), Sister Ann Marie Bitter (nee Borowski), Sister Theresa Basnett (Gary Basnett), and several nieces and nephews. His wife, Nicole, would like to especially thank the VA of New Orleans and her Edward Jones family. To the staff at the Azalea Hospice House at the VA: The compassion, empathy, and respect shown to the family during the last 6 months cannot be measured. Nicole’s Edward Jones family provided constant and continuous physical support and emotional support during the entirety of Joe’s illness. This will forever be held in her heart
