Joseph Davi

Joseph Davi, age 74, native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA died peacefully at Oceans Specialty Hospital on Sunday night, May 8, 2011 from his illness. He was beloved husband of Jacqueline Schwandt Davi, father of Cyndi De Salvo, Elaine Davi, Sonta Davi, Johnny Davi and Philip Davi. He was also a loving stepfather to Michelle Brand and Julie Brand Van Veckhoven and like a father to his granddaughter Brittany Brand, whom he helped raise. He is preceded in death by his father John Davi, his mother Sonta Davi and a baby brother. He leaves behind his siblings Jennie Mauri, Stephanie Hyland and Philip Davi. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joe was a former employee of I.A.T.S.E. Local # 39 Stagehand Union, and of Union National Insurance, and was also a United Cab driver. I would like to thank everyone at Oceans for the loving care and kindness shown to Joe, myself, and my family. I especially want to thank Dennis Locher, Nurse Practioner, for all the wonderful care he gave to Joe. Before going to Oceans, Joe was a resident of Woodland Village, and I would like to thank his caregivers from there also. Funeral services will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Visiting times for family are from 5-6 PM and for the public from 6-9 PM on Friday the 13th. On Saturday, the 14th, visiting for the public will be from 8-11 AM and Mass will be held at 11 AM, in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME.
