On June 1, 2015, "Cowboy Joe" tipped his cowboy hat for the last time and rode off into the sunset. Joseph Dominick Sansoni was quite a character. He was known to some as "J.D.", others as "Cowboy Joe", and others as "Paw". J.D. was born in Napoleonville, LA on December 13,1925 and has been a resident of Marrero, LA. He is the son of the late Emily Himel Sansoni and the late Simon Sansoni. Father of Judy Sansoni Guilliot (Larry Jr.) and the late David Sansoni (Nora) and Gerald Sansoni Sr. Brother of the late Jarysch "J.L." Sansoni and the late Anna Mae Tastet. Grandfather of Lisa Sansoni Tastet, Dina Sansoni Blanchard (Tee), Jeremy Guillot Sr (Tera) and Megan Guillot. Great-grandfather of Briana Tastet, Tharon Blanchard Jr., Lainie Guillot, and Jeremy Guillot Jr. He is also survived by his former wife, Gladys Blanchard Sansoni along with many loving nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Johns-Manville and the Jefferson Parish School Board. Special thanks to the staff of Tranquil Living and Heart of Hospice for the loving care provided to him in the last months of his life and to Dr. Ahmad Shanableh for his kindness and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 8 AM to 11 AM.
