Joseph Donald “Joe” Carite passed away on October 27, 2015 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Althea Sloan Carite. Father of Kathleen C. Altepeter (Robert), Donald D. Carite (Ada), Diane C. Moore (Louis), Gary M. Carite, Djuana C. Sirker (Sean) and the late Stephen D. Carite (Gillian). Grandfather of David, Don, Darren, Michelle, Kim, Jason, Shirley, Daniel, Ben, Sarah, Anya and the late Joey. Great-grandfather of Sophie, Anne Marie, Michael, Jacksen, Ella, Sage, Gavin, Vivian and Stephen. Brother of the late Rosemarie C. Leitz and John I. Fredric. Uncle of Valerie Van Vrancken and John Leitz IV. Son of the late Joseph W. Carite and Valerie Ruiz Carite. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Joseph served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and later retired from retail sales. He was a member of American Legion Post 378 where he served as Finance Officer and was Past-President of the Terrytown Lions Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment St. Roch Cemetery #2 in New Orleans.
