Joseph Bertram Fryer entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 63 years to Leonette Marie Heck. Preceded in death by his parents, Smith Fryer and Mabel Alexander Fryer and his brother, Lyle Fryer. Loving and devoted father of Anne Fryer Grimmett (Husband Adrian) of Moody, Texas; Catherine Fryer Gray (Husband David) of Tomball, Texas; Beth Fryer Wallace (Husband Wayne) of Spring, Texas; Debra Fryer Boyle (Husband Michael) of Pflugerville, Texas; Joseph Fryer (Wife Tamara) of Jefferson, Louisiana; Teresa Fryer Trauth (Husband Gary) of New Orleans, Louisiana; Janet Fryer McAllister (Husband Erik) of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Paul Fryer (Wife April) of Shelby, North Carolina. Grandfather of Vanessa, Megan, Karl, Morgan, Chad, Melissa, Keith, Erin, Madelyn, Alexander, Amelia, Eamon, Brian and Alison. Great Grandfather of Lauren, Emma, Rowan, Kiran, Robbie, Makayla, Madison and Brennan. Brother of Vince Fryer of Mt. Vernon, Washington. Joseph is a graduate of University of Minnesota, 1950 where he received a Bachelor in Geological Engineering. He was employed as a Geologist for Mobil Oil Corporation for 33 years. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council 3030. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1941 until 1946. He was born in Rochester, MN and resided in New Orleans, LA. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, New Orleans, LA on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 10Am until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1PM. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City, Iowa. Donations may be made in his memory to Catholic Charities.
