Joseph U. Griffin

Joseph U. Griffin entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the age of 84. Beloved and loving husband of 62 years to Margaret Fitzgerald Griffin. Loving father of Joseph, Ted, and Don Griffin. Father-in-law of Christine Peres Griffin and Kimberly Gros Griffin. Grandfather of Candace G. Brownfield, Brandi G. Marlowe and Mary M. Griffin. Great Grandfather to his newly born great grandson, Jonathan Marlowe. Son of the late Edith Zeringue Griffin and Clifton Griffin. Brother of Earlin and Calvin Griffin and the late Hazel G. Gollmer. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Joseph was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Terrytown, LA. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the VFW and Pioneers. He retired from South Central Bell after many years of employment. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff of Heart of Hospice for their care given to Joseph. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 8AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
