“Pops” was most happy when he was with his children, “Miss Kindy”, “Tookie YiYi”, “Baby Deal”, “Auntie”, “Jodi Girl”, “What E Say” and “Fish”. His grandchildren, each of them, were his pride and joy. He delighted in every moment spent with them; they are his legacy.
Joe loved golfing with his sons and brother-in-law Jimmy, fishing with his brothers Mike and Tommy and traveling with his sister, Mary. On Sundays, he attended his favorite church with his wife. Joe proposed on Memorial Day, 1977 to Marchetta. They married and spent 38 wonderful years together.
Joseph served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He later worked as an umpire for the New Orleans Umpires Association and officiated games at parks and schools throughout the metro area. He was passionate about working with the youth of our community and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed, but his life will be celebrated.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff of Ochsner Foundation I.C.U. for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
